Open Doors is a faith-based organization helping persecuted Christians around the world. Since our founder, Brother Andrew, started his first trip to the Communist Eastern Europe in 1955, Open Doors has been strengthening millions of Christians across the globe who suffer because of following Jesus. Today, Open Doors operates in more than 60 countries and has 21 affiliate local bases including the Philippines (the first Asian country to join Open Doors in 1975). Our Vision Statement
Our purpose is to strengthen and equip the body of Christ living under or facing restriction and persecution because of their faith in Jesus Christ, and to encourage their involvement in world evangelism by:
*Providing Bibles and literature, media, leadership training, socio-economic development and through intercessory prayer;
*Preparing the body of Christ living in threatened or unstable areas to face persecution and suffering; and
*Educating and mobilizing the body of Christ living in the free world to identify with threatened and persecuted Christians and be actively involved in assisting them.
We do so because we believe that "if one part suffers, all parts suffer with it" (I Corinthians 12:26), all doors are open and God enable His body to go into all the world and preach the Gospel.
Our dream is of a world in which every Christian who is persecuted is remembered and supported by other Christians. Walking and standing with those who share our faith but not our freedom is part of being a Christian. As followers of Jesus, we are part of the same family.
Our vision is to connect the church in the Philippines with the needs, vision, and values of the persecuted church worldwide so it will be spiritually renewed to serve suffering Christians everywhere.
Our 7 Core Values
1. We are part of the body of Christ; a people-to-people people.
2. We are persecuted-church driven.
3. We are people of the Bible.
4. We are people of prayer.
5. We live and work by faith.
6. We are devoted to Jesus Christ and His commandments.
7. We are motivated solely for the glory of God.

The Carving in the Rock
The process of engraving on a rock requires time and perseverance. It is the same with following Christ. Everyone who believes in Him is called upon to carry His cross daily. With both the Ichthus and Barbwire symbols carved on a rock, it symbolizes Open Doors’ dedication to persevere in its calling to serve the Persecuted Church no matter how long and hard it takes.
The Ichthus Sign
Persecuted believers of the early church hiding in Roman catacombs etched the Ichthus sign on the ground, to identify themselves discreetly to fellow believers. Open Doors has embraced this symbol, not only to identify with them in their suffering, but to serve the persecuted Christians worldwide through prayer and practical help.
The Barbwire
The barbwire evokes images of oppression often seen in prisons & labor camps. We, at Open Doors, are committed to help our brothers and sisters who are arrested and have lost their freedom because of their faith in the Lord Jesus Christ. Entwined with the Ichthus, it is a constant reminder that suffering will follow those who believe in Christ.
The Rock
In the Bible, God has taken "The Rock" as one of His great Names. In the Old Testament, He is the Rock of Ages – everlasting, strong and mighty. In the New Testament, Christ is the Rock and Chief Cornerstone, upon which His church is built, and from which the Spirit of life flows. He is the Center and Foundation of everything done at Open Doors.
