Indonesia has become a COVID-19 hotspot, with tens of thousands of cases each day. In the wake of the pandemic, some Indonesian Christians are experiencing persecution even as they mourn the loss of their loved ones.

When COVID-19 took the life of Yunita’s father, the cemetery coordinator demanded that she pay a large sum of money for his burial. According to authorities, these services should have been free.

Yunita said, “I asked him, ‘Why do I have to pay, sir?’ The coordinator said that non-Muslims are not covered by the government. Only Muslims.”

After the incident went viral online, one politician said, “We suspect there have been many similar incidents. We welcome if there are residents who want to report so we can follow it up.”

In a country with the world’s largest Muslim population, Christians often face discrimination and persecution.

With the COVID-19 pandemic far from over, we need you to pray over Indonesian believers like Yunita who are still at risk.

Pray For Indonesia

  • Pray for provision over vulnerable Christians. Pray God will provide for all their physical, emotional, and spiritual needs.
  • Pray for the safety and protection of health workers putting their lives on the line during the pandemic.
  • Pray that God will transform the hearts of those discriminating against Christians.
